[AUTHORS NOTE]
This was a story idea I had, had for quite a long time in the running. It especially peaked out during the release of the new STAR TREK film. Star Trek: Operation Phoenix was an endeavor I came up with even before I had even seen the simm here on OSB. However, I have finally come to the conclusion it is a story worth sharing now. I had come up with the weird AU (alter universe) idea of a what if scenerio. For some time I had played around with the idea, even rped the thing out offline with some friends. Turned out to be quite fun actually. But it was a very well out there idea.
I have always been facinated by AU stories. How different they are from the real thing. Some can be so out there that its just unbelievable. While others are so similar its uncanny. Maybe my facinatation with them is almost Q ish, but I don't care. If it pleases me then thats all that really matters. Otherwise the story is not really worth my time and or effort. However, this one seemed to nag for quite some time to be put down in the place called syber space, the other final fronter hahaha.
The idea was this, what if the Enterprise crew, in an alternate universe, had, had children? What would there taie be like? Would they follow in there fathers and mothers footsteps, or would there lives be different from there partents? So naturally to answer all the divulging questions, I had people help me rp a scenerio out, and come to find it was one I really enjoyed. So here with this written version I intend to bring the best, and the worse moments of the star trek universe to life. My hope is that everyone enjoys the story as much as I do. I may not be the best star trek knowledgable for technical looks or for the species and planets. But what I can give is undoubtably an experiance worth retelling for years to come. So sit back, relax, grab some food, and enjoy my story.

[PLOT SUMMERY]
It is the year 2294, about 36 years after Captain James T.Kirk’s five year mission to explore strange new worlds. Advanced to Admiral, Kirk has gone on to become an instructor at Starfleet Academy. His ship and crew now all but a faint memory of what was. With the Enterprise decommissioned the crew had to find other endeavors to entertain themselves with. Some stayed with Starfleet full time, while others stayed on part time and sought out other interests, while the rest left for good having finished out what they wanted to. But for the majority, being without the Enterprise it just wasn’t the same. However, many of the senior staff stayed well in touch even after all was said and done. Most having gone on to have families of their own.
Yet Starfleet never stops. There continuing efforts into the far reaches of the universe go on. As of recent within the last decade, Starfleet has been working on a project. This project was called the Rising Star Program. A program dedicated in the service of educating children and adolescence the world of space. Starbase Alpha 7 is the go to space station for this school/camp program. There student learn everything from space to organization. The program is built on the firm beliefs of Starfleet rank and code of conduct. Children there learn respect, loyalty, honor, and organizational skills in a friendly environment. Of course helping to lead the project was none other than Admiral Kirk.
Meanwhile a young boy named Jason Kirk, son of James Kirk, was now at the pinnacle of his adolescence. Being 16, he was dead set against being like his father in all sense of the word. Even though he had been a part of the Rising star Program since he was 13, which was the entrance age. Jason was all for being his own person not wanting to follow in his golden boy dads footsteps. Though, after having gotten in trouble, his father was heavily convince to drag him off to Starbase Alpha 7 for a chance to try and shape up his son. Though this year, there was a new project in the lineup, one dubbed Operation Next Generation. This project was to be the first dedicated ship to carry children on a long term mission to explore the safer solar systems of the galaxy. Of course Jason at first was not interested, but with some convincing he began to find he couldn’t refuse the challenge.
Jason was now in a contest for a chance of his lifetime, one that could make him a better teen or a drop out of the Rising Star program. Finding his place; he began to make tight bonds with people he met over the years many of them being children of some of the old Enterprise crew themselves. With them they would fight their way to the top of the list to be placed aboard the ship that was to be launched. However, there was one thing that none were bargaining for, something that only a select few knew about. It wasn’t going to be some simple research and discover vessel. It was going to be an experiment to see how well children could last out in space just like the rest of those in Starfleet, a way for some of the admirals to see just if it were a good idea to even have children on board star ships going into deep space. Would Jason and his friends be prepared to face the ugly truth that some of those of Starfleet are trying to do? Stay tuned to find out…..
To be continued...
